PURPOSE: A telephone mouse is provided to make a telephone call using a key-pad built therein, to enter a numeric through the key-pad to a computer, and also to selectively indicate telephone or mouse function. The telephone mouse is also provided to perform a telephone function in a hand-free manner, using a microphone built therein and a speaker to be connected to a jack of the mouse, to generate vibration when telephoning, and also to serve as a radio receiver built therein. CONSTITUTION: The telephone mouse comprises a key input section(116), a hook switch(130), a numeric and dual tone multi-frequency interface(130), a telephone circuit(120), a third interface(130) for electrically connecting the telephone circuit to a public switched telephone network, a coupled speaker and microphone built in the mouse, a second interface(122) for electrically connecting the telephone circuit to the speaker and microphone, an indicator(132), a tone ringer(136) and a buzzer(138). The numeric and dual tone multi-frequency interface generates a dual tone multi-frequency signal in response to the entering of the key input section while being the off-hook state of the hook switch, and thereby the mouse is possible to make a telephone call. The off-hook state is displayed by the indicator. While being in the on-hook state, the numeric and dual tone multi-frequency interface also generates numerical signals corresponding to the keys entered through the key pad and provides the numerical signals to the computer. Thereby the numeric can be inputted through the telephone mouse to the computer. Using the coupled speaker and microphone, the mouse can perform the telephone function in a hand-free manner. The mouse further comprises a jack which is built therein to be connected to a plug of an externally coupled earphone and microphone. The coupled earphone and microphone has a radio receiver(40).
