A disinfecting composition in cake form comprises (a) an active compound of formula (C12H25 NH CH2CH2CH2 NHR COOH) x (H3PO4)y, wherein R is -CH2- or - <FORM:1111719/A5-A6/1> -, x is 2 or 3 and v is 1 or 2, (b) an ethanolamide of a C12 to C18 fatty acid, and (c) a water-soluble carboxylic acid having a melting point above 100 DEG C. Component (c) may be citric, succinic, malic or ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid; and component (b) may be an ethanolamide of stearic, palmitic, oleic or coconut fatty acid. A typical example of component (a) is tri (dodecyl-aminopropylglycine) phosphate. The composition finds application in disinfecting/washing hands. |
