1,190,161. Torque motor. BENDIX CORP. 6 March, 1968 [6 March, 1967], No. 10945/68. Heading HIP. A pivoted armature 48 has one arm 44 surrounded by a coil 50 and the other 46 by coil 52. Polepieces 16, 18 attached to a permanent magnet (12, Fig. 7, not shown) have fixed portions 28, 30 and movable portions 32, 34 which may be linked to the fixed portions by webs 24, 26 or alternatively by hinges. Adjustable stops 62, 64 are provided for arm 44 whilst the air gap B may be adjusted by means of screws 66, 68. The armature 48 is fixed to the permanent magnet (12) by torsion spring ribs (54, Fig. 1). The adjusting screws 66, 68 allow the mechanical and the magnetic null points of the device to be made coincident. If required, however, an inbalance caused by the setting of screws 66, 68 will produce a device with quick-traversal slow-return characteristic. |
