PURPOSE: A mobile telephone's liquid crystal display and a back light control method are provided to prevent mis operation of a mobile telephone and to extend the life span of a battery. CONSTITUTION: The mobile telephone's liquid crystal display and a back light control method comprises the steps of; deciding if the cover of the mobile telephone is open; judging if a user's ear is touched around the speaker of the mobile phone while the cover is open; and intercepting electric power for feeding the liquid crystal display and the back light when judging the user's ear is touched.
