PURPOSE: A device for controlling an electric power supply is provided to minimize the consumed electric power of an electronic equipment such as a television set consuming a certain amount of electric power while always acting in a standby mode. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling an electric power supply comprises: an electric power supplying unit(120) for supplying a source voltage(101) supplied from the outside to loads(130, 140); a controlling unit(190) for being fed with a voltage signal(120c) from the electric power supplying unit for generating a standby mode signal(171) and an electric power supply blocking signal(180a) in response to a mode controlling signal(MSC) from the outside; and a switching unit(110) for blocking the source voltage.
