PURPOSE: A signal generator is provided for use in liquid crystal display devices, which can reduce power consumption and area of the devices. CONSTITUTION: The signal generator includes a signal supplier circuit(30) for supplying signals of four levels(0, 1/3VCC, 2/3VCC, and VCC) using a power supply voltage(VCC), and a signal selector circuit(40) for selecting one of the four-level signals. In an embodiment, the signal supplier circuit includes first through third resistors(R3, R2, and R1) connected in serial, a first switching element(P1) connected between the power supply voltage(VCC) and the first resistor(R3), and a second switching element(N1) connected between the third resistor(R1) and a ground voltage(GND).
