PURPOSE: A method of reducing speed change time of an automatic transmission for a vehicle without a rotational speed change sensor is provided by using RPM variation in the operation of power on and up shift. CONSTITUTION: The speed change control of an automatic speed change gear without a rotational speed change sensor is performed by adjusting the grade value of the engine RPM variation when it is larger than 0 and the throttle variation is larger than plus or minus 5% during the N cycle in the clutch fill zone(a) in the control of a torque phase(b) where there are only torque variations without engine RPM variation.
