PURPOSE: When noises occurs to a front part of a start bit of an input data, asynchronous serial data receiver removes the noises, and thus accurately detects an actual data. CONSTITUTION: A data receiver includes a first memory for storing an input data. An edge detector(102) detects a starting of a start bit of the input data by using output data generated from the first memory(101). A window signal generator(103) produces a signal indicating a starting of an input data according to a detection signal of the edge detector. A counter(308) starts a counting from a starting of the input data generated from the window signal generator. A decoder(105) compares the output of the counter with a predetermined value, and provides a disable signal to the window signal generator or the counter. A second memory(106) stores a data stored in the first memory according to a clock signal periodically provided from the decoder. A third memory(107) stores a data stored in the second memory according to a clock signal provided from the decoder.
