PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THERMOPLASTIC RESIN

PURPOSE: A process for producing a thermoplastic resin, ASA resin is provided which improves dry productivity by reducing moisture in power and impact strength. CONSTITUTION: The process for producing ASA resin comprising 30-50 pts.wt (based on 100 pts.wt. of the total monomer) of alkyl acrylate monomer, 30-60 pts.wt of aromatic vinyl compound and 10-20 pts.wt of vinyl cyanide compound comprises the steps of: producing a cross-linked butyl acrylate rubber polymer by simultaneously copolymerizing 30-50 pts.wt of butyl acrylate monomer, 0.1-4 parts of methylmethacrylate (MMA) and 0.1-6 parts of acrylonitrile (AN) wherein 0.2-1.0 parts of a metal salt of C12-C18 alkyl sulfosuccinate, C12-C20 alkyl sulfonic ester or a metal salt of C12-C20 sulfonic acid is used as emulsifier; grafting styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) resin by putting 40-60 pts.wt of vinyl compound and 10-20 pts.wt of vinyl cyanide into the cross-linked polymer wherein 0.5-3.0 pts.wt of a metal salt of rosin or C12-C20 carboxylic acid.
