POWER CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR COMPUTER DISPLAY DEVICES

PURPOSE: A display power control circuit is provided to determine whether to drive a power supply of a display device depending on whether the display device is used or not and to display whether a display signal cable is disconnected from the display device or a main body of a computer system regardless of power-on/off of the display device. CONSTITUTION: The display power control circuit includes a power drive signal generator for generating a power drive signal when a horizontal or vertical synchronization signal is detected, a switch controller for providing a switch drive signal in response to the power drive signal, and a switch circuit for switching in response to the switch drive signal so as to drive a switching transformer because a power regulated by a regulator is applied to a transformer driving circuit through a driving resistor. The display power control circuit permits a display device to turn on/off automatically depending on the power-on/off of a main computer body.
