DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PCM SIGNAL SCALE CONVERSION

PURPOSE: A PCM signal conversion method is provided to convert a linear scale of the PCM signal to an A-law scale signal to be treated at a switching system and to reversely convert. CONSTITUTION: A PCM signal conversion method comprises the steps of: even number bit reversing to form an 8-bit PCM signal as a normal signal; bypassing a sine bit among the reversed PCM signals and dividing other bits into segment and step bit; and shifting to connect data off and on of the step bit according to the result of decoding of the segment bit value.
