Tensioning method for steel strip or sheet stretching machine uses a hydraulic method in which motors and pumps respectively are connected with the pulling and braking rolls counterbalancing each other hydraulically. Separate hydraulic motors are additionally connected to the rolls and used for starting up and maintaining speed.
