PURPOSE: A display device and a display control method are provided to display all numerical information in a graphic channel as digital values CONSTITUTION: The display device displays a state or a measuring value to significant control spots of a monitoring object on a large-sized mosaic graphic panel where a hierarchical diagram is painted when an auto control system controls and monitors a field state. Particularly, analog values is displayed as digital numerical values on the graphic panel by a 7 segment display device. The display device comprises a graphic panel driver outputting an address displaying each display device, data to be displayed, and a control signal of the display device; a comparator comparing and recognizing address outputted from the graphic driver with an its own address; a graphic panel maintaining display data followed by the comparing and recognizing result and displaying an analog value as a digital numerical value by an auto selector automatically selecting a data-displayed digit.
