APPARATUS AND METHOD OF TRANSLATING ENGLISH PREPOSITION PHRASE INTO KOREAN

PURPOSE: An English-Korean translator is provided to translate an English preposition phrase into a suitable Korean case auxiliary word. CONSTITUTION: The translator, which receives a meaning structure of an English preposition phrase to determines a Korean case auxiliary word matched thereto, comprises an example database storing examples matched to a meaning case of the English preposition phrase; a Korean case storage storing Korean cases; a meaning case determiner receiving the meaning structure thereof to compute similarity to the examples included in the database and determining a meaning case of the example having the highest similarity as the meaning case of the phrase; and a case auxiliary word determiner searching a Korean case out of the cases stored therein to determine the Korean case auxiliary word matched to the English preposition phrase. Thereby, it is possible to find various Korean auxiliary words matched to an English preposition phrase and considering Korean characteristics.
