PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand the frequency range of reproduction musical tone data while reducing the memory capacity of an input buffer. SOLUTION: A device driver stores waveform data WD and thinning waveform data WD1, WD2, WD3,... obtd. by thinning this data in a RAM 30. A control section 11 transfers the necessary thinning waveform data WD1, WD2, WD3 to an input buffer 13 in accordance with the pitch information of control data CD. An interpolation section 14 forms interpolation waveform data WD' by subjecting the thinning waveform data WD1, WD2, WD3 read out of the input buffer 13 to interpolation processing. An arithmetic section 15 forms the reproduction musical tone data SD by subjecting the interpolation waveform data WD' to arithmetic processing. An output buffer 16 buffers the reproduction musical tone data SD. DAC 17 forms a reproduction musical tone signal S by converting the reproduction musical tone data SD to an analog signal. |
