摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical azimuth adjusting device by which inclination angle of a gap is adjusted to an indicated angle while confirming the angle on a screen and an optical azimuth adjusting method. SOLUTION: In the method for adjusting optical azimuth, at the time of time-processing a gap pick-up image, peripheral deviation correction of a traveling surface of a rotating drum is executed (S1), the gap pick-up image is taken in (S2), all position data of the gap are detected in pixel units (S3), data having no relation to whole data are eliminated (S4), after elimination of the data, linear approximation of the gap line is executed and data greatly deviated from the line are eliminated (S5), the linear approximations are executed again (S6, S7), an angle coefficient obtained by the linear approximation is expressed in terms of inclination angle of the gap by trigonometric function to obtain the gap inclination angle (S8). Thereby data except gap are eliminated and gap detection can be executed with high precision while improving workability.
