PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plate making film which is inexpensive and has enough accuracy and dimensional stability and excellent mass-productivity by providing the film with a transparent base material and a layer containing alumina hydrate as an effective component provided on the base material. SOLUTION: This film is provided with a transparent base material and a layer containing alumina hydrate as an effective component provided on the base material. As for the transparent base material, a film made of polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride, diacetate or the like is used. The thickness of the transparent base material is preferably 25 to 300μm and especially preferably 50 to 200μm. Especially preferably, the alumina hydrate to be used has 20 to 100 mg/g adsorptivity. The alumina hydrate has pores in which the total volume of the pores having 40Åto 100Åpore radius preferably in the range of 0.1 cc/g to 0.4 cc/g. Generally, the thickness of the layer containing alumina hydrate is preferably 1 to 100μm.
