PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video telephone system provided with an automatic answering function, capable of communicating a response message including both of voice data and image data to an opposite side equipment and recording a reply message (including the voice data and the image data) from the opposite side equipment. SOLUTION: When a ringing detector 12 detects a call from an opposite side equipment of communication, the effect of the detection is reported to a CPU 14. At receiving of the notification of the detection from the ringing detector 12, the CPU 14 closes a line (automatic response). Then, after the automatic response, the CPU 14 inspects whether or not the opposite equipment of the communication is a video telephone. As a result of inspection, when the opposite side equipment is the video telephone system, the CPU 14 transmits the voice data and the image data stored in a flash memory 22 to the opposite side as the response message of an automatic answering telephone. |
