PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit an unnecessary process from initial processes carried out when a power source is turned on and, therefore, to shorten time required for start-up. SOLUTION: In the case the surface temperature of a fixing roller is below a specific set temperature when the power source is turned on, (Y in S22), the initial operation of a reading unit is carried out, (S23). In the case the surface temperature of the fixing roller is above the set temperature when the power source is turned on, (N in S22), at least a part is omitted from the initial operation of the reading unit (S25). Thus, when the surface temperature of the fixing roller has been already higher than the set temperature as in the case where the power source is temporarily turned off/on in order to recover from an error caused by, for example, erroneous operation of a sensor or the like, the device judges that the turning on of the power source is not regular initial one, and omits the unnecessary part from the initial operation of the reading unit, thereby causing the device to start up early. |
