PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the individual calling system specific small-power transceiver capable of individual calling by transmitting a code signal consisting of a specific group number, a transmitting station ID number, and an opposite-station ID number over a free channel belonging to the specific channel group number. SOLUTION: A normal mode and an individual calling mode are switched according to the way how the transceiver is powered ON. Under the control of a control part 4, a receiving circuit 2 and a transmitting circuit 3 perform transmission and reception corresponding to a channel. Each transceiver has an ID number assigned so as to identify the transceiver itself. In an individual calling mode state, a free channel is searched for by automatically scanning plural channels belonging to a specific channel group when transmitted and the free channel is used to send out the code signal consisting of the group number of the group that the transceiver belongs to, the ID number of the transceiver itself, and the ID number of a desired communication opposite party.
