<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech synthesizer capable of automatically deciding a proper read-out mode according to contents of a text. SOLUTION: An input means 1 inputs the text to be read-out, and a division means 5 divides the text with blank, line feed, etc., as a break. A frequency extraction means 2 extracts the appearance frequency of a character in the text for every divided text. A mode decision means 3 decides the read-out mode for every divided text based on the frequency information. A speech synthetic means 4 reads out respective divided texts in the text by speech synthesis according to the read-out mode decided for every divided text.</p> |
