PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element in which light beams made incident on an input port are outputted as expanded or reduced light beams without complicating the constitution. SOLUTION: The element includes a first slab waveguide 13, which is formed on an optical substrate 11, branches multiplexed light beams to respective output terminals and outputs them, a phase controller 15, which passes and guides the light beams outputted from the terminals of the waveguide 13, and a second slab waveguide 16 which respectively polarizes the gudied light beams toward the output terminals corresponding to the polarized angles in accordance with the phases by respective wavelengths. Respectively inputted light beams to the waveguide 13 are outputted as the output light beams of unmagnified images from the waveguide 16. |
