PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system with high immunity to a background light. SOLUTION: The optical link 10 has a transmitter 30 and a receiver 40. The transmitter 30 is provided with a circularly polarized light source with a prescribed wavelength, and modulates a signal from the circularly polarized light source with data and transmits the modulated data. The receiver 40 is provided with a reception circuit 19 that generates a signal denoting a difference of intensity for a left-handed rotatory polarized light and a right-handed rotatory polarized light made incident onto its input terminal. The load of receiving linearly polarized light or non-polarization light is relieved. |
