PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bursting strength testing machine by which a test can be made always in a state that the air does not exist by a method wherein a pipe for evacuation is opened on the lower side of a rubber diaphragm inside a pressure chamber so as to communicate with the outside of the pressure chamber and the air which is collected on the lower side of the rubber diaphragm is removed easily. SOLUTION: A rubber diaphragm 3 is attached to the surface opening part of a pressure chamber body 5 so as to close the opening part. A ring-shaped lower-part tightening plate 2 is attached. The rubber diaphragm 3 is compression-bonded to the pressure chamber body 5. The lower-part tightening plate 2 is fixed to the pressure chamber body 5 by a tightening ring 4. A piston 7 is installed, a pressure is applied to the lower part of the rubber diaphragm 3, the end-part opening part of a pipe 8 for evacuation is opened in a position which is slightly separated from the rear surface of the rubber diaphragm 3. The inside of a pressure chamber 6 is made to communicate with the outside so pass the sidewall of the pressure chamber body 5. The pressure chamber 6 can be cut off from the outside world by using a valve 10. By this structure, when the valve 10 is opened while the surface of the rubber diaphragm 3 is being pressurized, the air which is collected on its lower side can be removed easily.
