PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duplex LAN switch device with which a LAN switch device is duplexed, characteristics and performance are improved, configuration is simplified and improvement in reliability can be expected. SOLUTION: A LAN switch device 10 is made into active system and a LAN switch device 20 is made into stand-by system by a MAC selector 35 of an interface part 30 on a LAN. Then, a received packet from the LAN is simultaneously transferred through a PHY 31 of the interface part 30 and a data reception line 41 to MAC parts 11 and 21 of the LAN switch devices 10 and 20. The packet is processed by the MAC part 11, the MAC address of the received packet is registered in a MAC address table 14, at the same time, the received packet is stored in a packet buffer 13, the transmission processing of the packet to the transmission destination is performed by the MAC part 12 and transmission data are transmitted from the MAC part 12 through a data transmission line 45, data selector 34 and PHY 32 to the LAN.
