PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep or carry a scanner device by a method similar to one of keeping or carrying a conventional notebook or multi-ring binder and to easily scan a large object such as one hung on a wall. SOLUTION: This scanner device 10 is provided with a housing 12 provided with a front surface and a back surface and the scanner of a size which is capable of receiving by the housing 12. A transparent platen 28 placed on the front surface of the housing 12 makes the scanner able scan the object positioned adjacent to the transparent platen 28. Through a window positioned on the back surface of the housing, a user can view at least a part of the object positioned adjacent to the transparent platen.
