PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read a predetermined audio program recorded on a recording medium by receiving a data column of an audio sector sent by a driving device, and when an ID code of the audio sector is determined to belong to a predetermined audio program under the control of an extraction controller, extracting the data column of this audio sector. SOLUTION: An ID extractor 34 extracts an ID code from an ID column of an audio sector in response to operation of a SYNC detector 32, and sends it to an extraction controller 31. A sector data extractor 35 receives an output of an error management processor 33, extracts a data column of a predetermined audio sector from the error management processor 33 when receiving an approval signal from the extraction controller 31. The sector data extractor 35 stores the data column of the extracted audio sector into a FIFO memory device 36. Thereafter, these data columns are sent to an audio decompressor 37 so as to be decompressed, thereby allowing original audio program to be recovered.
