The security system uses a transmitter which may send e.g. a square-wave or pulse code signal to a receiver in a vehicle. If the correct code is received, the receiver triggers unlocking of the vehicle doors etc. The circuits in the receiver measure the distortion of the transmitted signal (R), as characterized by the rise time (deltaT) of the signal from its low value to its high value. Unlocking may be aborted if the distortion is too great.
