PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separable display device that is convenient for portability. SOLUTION: This device consists of a display unit 1 which comprises a liquid crystal display device, etc., a video signal output device 2 that outputs a video signal, a relay unit 21 which performs a role such as amplifying a signal outputted from the device 2, a cable 22 that connects the unit 1 and the device 2 and a cable 5 which connects the unit 21 and the device 2. The cable 22 consists of a video signal line (22a) in which a luminance signal is mixed with a color signal and a power supply line (22b), one end of the cable 22 is directly connected to the unit 1, the other end of the cable 22 is connected to a connector plug 23 and the cable 22 is connected to the unit 21 through a connector jack 24 attached to the unit 21.
