The invention relates to the storing and distribution of liquid carbon dioxide. The facility comprises a reversible refrigerating machine (6), a first exchange circuit (20) with an exchanger (21) arranged in the part (3) of the container taken up by the gas phase of the carbon dioxide, a second exchange circuit (30) with an exchanger (31) arranged on the draw-off line (4) and two control valves (24, 25) having opposite control elements in relation to each other and arranged between the refrigerating machine and the first or second circuit. The invention also relates to the use of said facility for balancing storage and distribution conditions.
