The clasp consists of a curved plate (10) with a slot (13) designed to receive a curved arm (11) with a lengthwise slit (14) which allows it edges to compress so that projections (16) can engage with recesses (17) in the plate. The arm is pivoted at one end to the plate, and its other end has a hinge member (18) to engage with an adjacent link of the bracelet. A variant of the design has a plate with two shorter slots to receive a matching arm pivoted to each end of it.
