WIRING LENGTH ESTIMATING METHOD AND ITS DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce estrangement between the estimated inter-lock wiring length without actually arranging the blocks and the actually arranged wiring length by estimating the wiring length based on temporary wiring among the temporarily arranged blocks and correcting the estimated wiring length among the blocks based on the shape of the blocks. SOLUTION: In a correction procedure when temporarily arranged pins are not largely estranged from an actual arrangement position in a stage where the arrangement of respective blocks and that of the pins are fixed, an allowable range 204 where the temporarily arranged pins 202 can be moved after deciding a design layout is obtained by an expression: (the allowable range 204)=a×(the length of the side 203 of the block)(0<=a<=1) based on the length of one side 203 of the block where the temporarily arranged pins 202 exist on the temporarily arranged blocks 201 and then, inter-block wiring 206 corrected from inter-block wiring 205 is obtained. As the side is longer, as the movement distance of the temporarily arranged pins becomes larger, a coefficient (a) is made to the same value against the whole blocks.
