PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system which can write in and read out a map data storage medium and is convenient. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a map data storage drive part 1 which writes in or reads out a map data storage medium and operates it, a data reception part 2 for receiving data from an external data base, a state detection part 3c for detecting a state of a vehicle, and a control means 4a which controls so that a writing operation of the map data storage drive part 1 is allowed or prohibited on the basis of the state of the vehicle detected by the state detection part 3c. |
