[Also in Divisions E1 and F2] A pipe 10, such as a sewer-pipe, which hasbeen lined with a flexible, plastics, tubular liner 52 (see Division F2) and which has one or more lateral connections 13, has openings in the liner registering with those connections, such openings being produced by an annular copper ring 68, Figs. 9 and 11, having a narrow rim 69, and which is electrically heated by resistances 71 in bores 70. The ring is attached by arms 73 to a flexible rod 75 whereby it is inserted through the connection and cuts by fusion through the liner. |
