PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a divided display function for checking pictures photographed by m video cameras with a monitor while recording these pictures timedividision multiplexing by a VTR. SOLUTION: Video signals from m cameras are composted by a synchronization switching circuit 14 as a 1st composite video signal, which is outputted to a VTR 12 and supplied to a divided display circuit 15. In the circuit 15, a writing address generation circuit 24 generates an address corresponding to a CH code from a CH code detection circuit 22 and the images of respective channels are written in a prescribed memory area and a 2nd synthetic video signal for divided display is outputted from a terminal 7.
