PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly change time required for measuring temperature according to the size of an allowable error in the results of measurement concerning a radiation thermometer to accomplish non-contact measurement of the temperature of an object using infrared rays. SOLUTION: Infrared rays are measured by a method of changing the size of an error contained in a measured value according to time spent on measurement by an infrared rays measuring means 5 to determine the time of letting the infrared rays measuring means 5 measure the infrared rays, based on an allowable error by a measuring time decision means 3. Thus, the temperature of an object desired to measure temperature is calculated using an infrared measured value by a temperature calculation means 7.
