PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiprocessor disk array controller by which processing is excuted at high speed at the time of re-reading data which is once read. SOLUTION: This controller is provided with plural disk array controllers 20, 21 and 22, memories 30, 31 and 32 installed in the disk array controllers 20, 21 and 22, monitor devices 90, 91 and 92 monitoring matching of directory information, an outer memory 4 common to the disk array controllers 20, 21 and 22, a disk array device 10 formed of plural hard disk devices 5, 6 and 7 recording and reproducing data, and a bus 8 being a data transfer interface among the disk array controllers 20, 21 and 22, the outer memory 4 and the disk array device 10.
