PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a superior response characteristic by including in a reaction layer an enzyme and a substance for restricting an action of a glucose transporter to glucose. SOLUTION: A hydrophilic polymer layer 7 of carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose or the like is formed on an electrode system of an insulating substrate 1, on which a reaction layer 8 is formed. The reaction layer 8 includes, in addition to an enzyme and an electron receptor, a substance for restricting an action of a glucose transporter to glucose, for instance, cytochalasin B, calcium salt, hexose or the like. A lecithin layer 9 is formed at a face at the side of a cover member exposed to a space part constituting a sample feed path. The enzyme used is glucose oxidase, glucose dehydrogenase with NAD as a coenzyme, pyranose oxidase or the like, and the electron receptor is sodium hexacyanoferrate(III), potassium ferricyanide, p-benzoquinone or the like. |
