PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard installing structure of a luminaire fixable so as to prevent guards from falling off by other than a thumb nut. SOLUTION: In a guard installing structure of a luminaire, an installing metal fitting 3 is installed on and fixed to a wall 8, the back face side of a luminaire is turned to this side of this installing metal fitting 3, this luminaire is installed on the installing metal fitting 3, and guards 1 for protecting the luminaire are fixed to both ends of the installing metal fitting 3, the engaging recessed parts 2 are respectively formed on both ends of the installing metal fitting 3, and the slipping-out preventive parts 5 for engaging/fixing the end parts 4 of the guards 1 are formed in these engaging recessed parts 2.
