PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable image correcting processing corresponding to a color distribution to the prescribed kind of object image by judging the class of the object image composing an image, and controlling the possibility of image correcting processing. SOLUTION: At a host computer 100, based on a display image on a monitor 106, output image data are prepared by an application 101 while using text data, graphics data or image picture data. Then, printing-out is requested from the application 101 to an OS 102 and concerning graphics data and image picture data sections, a plotting instruction group composed of respective plotting instructions is issued through the OS 102 to a correspondent printer driver 103. The printer driver 103 discriminates the kind of plotting instruction and identifies which part of photographic image, text or graphics an object belongs to. Then, color balance, contrast and saturation are corrected to the color unbalanced photographic image.
