PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat developable photosensitive recording material having excellent storage property or the like before and after an image is formed, by incorporating a metal salt of aromatic dicarboxylic acid which is hardly soluble in water into a layer on the same side of a supporting body as a layer containing org. silver salts. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive recording material is produced by incorporating at least org. silver salts, a reducing agent and silver halides into at least one side of a supporting body, or the heat sensitizing recording material is produced by incorporating at least org. silver salts and a reducing agent into at least one side of a supporting body. In this method, a metal salt of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid which is hardly soluble in water is incorporated into a layer on the same side of a supporting body where the layer containing org. silver salts is present. The hardly soluble metal salt of the aromatic dicarboxylic acid has <=5 g/l (and >=0 g/l) solubility (at 25 deg.C) in water. The org. silver salts to be used are rather stable against light but form a silver image when they are heated at a temp. of >=80 deg.C in the presence of an exposed photocatalyst and a reducing agent.
