PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of a picture deviation of a projected picture when a stacked projection is conducted using plural projection type display device. SOLUTION: In zoom projecting lenses 21 and 22, the degree of change of the degree of distortion aberration against a picture height at a maximum picture height is made to approximately zero. If the above is accomplished, the maximum value of the amount of a picture deviation of an actual projected picture with respect to an ideal projected picture is made small and the maximum value of the amount of the picture deviation of two actually projected picture is made small. Moreover, the relationship shown below is satisfied: 0.887<=EE/EM<=0.975 where EE is the degree of distortion aberration at a maximum picture height and EM is the maximum value of the absolute value of the degree of distortion aberration.
