PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unnecessitate a troublesome operation and also to always display an appropriate dynamic image by allowing a receiving end to automatically detect the existence of the connection of an external displaying means, to notify format designation information that corresponds to the detection result to a transmitting end, to convert dynamic image data of a transmission object into the notified and designated format and to transmit it. SOLUTION: In a multimedia communication terminal device HS1 of a receiving end, an impedance measuring part 34 or a hand-held detector 35 detects the existence of the connection of an external television monitor VM and whether the monitor VM or an internal indicator 24 is used as a displaying means is decided. A format that is suitable to a displaying means to be used is decided based on the decision result and is notified to a contents server of a transmitting end. The contents server of the transmitting end encodes dynamic image data after converting it into the notified format and transmits it to the device HS1 of the receiving end.
