<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize characteristic mismatching caused by variations in manufacture by reducing the number of comparators and resistors to be used. SOLUTION: This converter is provided with channel comparator sections 190, 192 that receive an analog signal and output an intermediate code in 1-bit and a half thermometer code in (m/2-1)-bit (where m=2n and n is a positive integer), code generating sections 180, 182 that receive the intermediate code in 1-bit and the half thermometer code in (m/2-1)-bit and combine them logically and provide an output of the logically combined result as a full thermometer code in (m-1)-bit, and encode 184, 186 that convert the full thermometer code in (m-1)-bit into binary data in n-bit.</p> |
