PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the continuity of photographing from being interrupted for a specified time as an ND is inserted/pulled out by simultaneously actuating light quantity adjusting means in different methods so that the direction of the change in transmitted light quantity becomes reverse to each other. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a 1st light quantity adjusting means 1 adjusting a light quantity transmitted through a lens by varying the diameter of an aperture and a 2nd light quantity adjusting means 2 adjusting the light quantity transmitted through the lens in a method different from the adjusting means 1. By simultaneously actuating the adjusting means 1 and 2 so that the direction of the change of the transmitted light quantity becomes reverse to each other in the case of changing the light quantity transmitted through the lens, this device is controlled so that the transmitted light quantity being a target is obtained. The respective states of the respective light quantity adjusting means, for example, the state of the diameter of the aperture in a diaphragm device and the state that an ND is set in an ND inserting/pulling-out device are detected and the information is inputted in a control means. The control means controls the light quantity in conformity with fixed combination.
