PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the navigation of a vessel by calculating the bow azimuth of its own vessel on the vessel side based on received tidal information and performing the tidal correction in real time. SOLUTION: A navigation controller 1 on the vessel A side requests the land communication unit 71 of a meteorological and marine meteorological information providing facility 7 the transmission of detailed tidal information in a specified sea area on a course being kept currently through a satellite communication unit 5 for vessel and a communication satellite 6. Tidal information is received on the vessel A side from the land B side, preserved in a tide data base 17 and used for controlling the navigation of the vessel. A navigation control command section 12 delivers a communication command to a communication processing section 11 in order to start/stop course keeping processing and to calculate a commanded bow orientation based on a tidal data, a goal changing point and the position of its own vessel and then delivers the calculated values to an automatic steering unit 3. The automatic steering unit 3 advances the vessel in the commanded bow orientation calculated at the navigation control command section 12 of the navigation controller 1.
