The drive train (8) of the first slinger disk (1) consists of a fixed ratio gear train as opposed to the drive train for the far disk (2) handling limit spreads which makes use of at least two gear stages to provide possibly infinitely variable drive speeds. This compares with a base line slinger in which both drives run at equal speed. The disk (2) drive can only gear down to the lower speed, changing to this as demanded by a change in manure type etc. This change of gear can be pre-set from a spreader table. Each disk and train has an allocated sensor to show speed indications in the drivers cab. The first disk drive train (8) serves as reference speed for normal spreads, and the speed of the other disk (2) is adjusted according to this reference speed.
