PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sharpness of an intersectional part of a character when it is developed from outline data to a small-sized bitmap, by adding a correction value to this outline data to correct the coordinate point in the case that angles in the front and back of the coordinate point constituting the outline data are acute. SOLUTION: A character code and a size of development supplied from a control device 11 are supplied to an outline correcting means 122 via an outline developing means 121. The outline correcting means 122 obtains outline data corresponding to the supplied character code from an outline data storage part 131. Here, when a size of development is smaller than a certain value, correction processing is carried out after the outline correcting means obtains correction information from a correction information storage part 132. Namely, when the angles in the front and back of the coordinate point of the outline data are acute, the acute angle parts of the intersection are more emphasized by shifting the coordinate point by the correction and making the dots OFF, which are planned to be ON.
