PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely carry out emergency notification to an external machine in case of a trespass of burglar by allowing a host machine in a store to periodically send a report to the external machine through an external data communication line at every predetermined time. SOLUTION: This system comprises this article sale data processor consisting of terminals (electronic cash register) 10A to 10N arranged in the store, the in-store host machine 28 (store controller 20A) connected to the respective terminals 10 through an internal data communication line 1, a host computer (external machine) 30 which is arranged at a security company (outside) connected to the devices 10 and 20 through the external data communication line 2, and a host computer (external machine) 40 arranged at the head office (outside). Of the article sale data processors 10 and 20, the in-store host machine 20 is able to send regular reports to the external machines 30 and 40 through the external data communication line 2. Thus, the normal operation of the data communication line 1 between the terminals 10 and in-store host machine 20 and the external communication line 2 is confirmed.
