PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce impact when a drawer part where an IC is placed is inserted into a body part to reduce failure such as the jump-out of the IC from a tray and the damage to a device. SOLUTION: An automatic lock mechanism 12 is provided in a drawer mechanism 2 of a horizontally carrying automatic handler. In this case, the automatic lock mechanism 12 is composed of an arm 15 that is provided at a body part 1A so that the arm can be freely rotated, a cam follower 16 that rotates integrally with the arm 15, a bearing that presses the nib of the arm 15 while the drawer part is pushed and rotates the arm 15, a gear-lock block 17 that is provided at the drawer part and is engaged to the cam follower 16 while the arm 15 is rotated, a cylinder 14 and a solenoid valve that can fix the rotation of the arm 15 at the rotation position of the arm 15 when the cam follower engages with the gear-lock block 17, and a coil spring that energizes the arm 15 in a direction opposite to the press direction of the bearing.
